Your Mate Community Services (YMCS) was founded on the belief that people living with disability deserve more than just a support worker,  they deserve someone they can truly rely on, trust, and connect with, just like a good mate. We exist to provide high-quality, person-centred support that feels personal, empowering, and consistent.

We know that one of the biggest challenges in the disability sector is inconsistency in care. When participants are supported by different people each week, it disrupts routines, weakens trust, and creates unnecessary stress. At YMCS, we do things differently. We prioritise long-term, stable relationships between participants and support workers, because we believe support works best when it’s grounded in genuine connection.

YMCS was founded in 2023 by Abishek (Abi), a former Senior Planner with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). After years of helping participants navigate the NDIS system, Abi saw a pattern,  while many people received funding and plans, they were still left feeling unsupported due to high staff turnover, poor communication, and transactional care. He created YMCS to break that cycle.

Drawing on his deep experience within the NDIS and his passion for authentic, person-first care, Abi built YMCS with a simple but powerful vision: to be a provider that treats people like people, not numbers. Our team takes the time to understand each participant’s goals, preferences, cultural background, and communication style, and we carefully match them with the right support worker to build lasting, positive relationships.

At YMCS, we support people to live life on their own terms,  whether that means assistance with daily living, accessing the community, building independence, or just having someone consistent by your side. We’re committed to clear communication, reliable support, and always showing up with respect and compassion.
